Start posting!

Hooray! I think it works.
I posted a message and it was emailed to me, so I have copied and pasted it in for you to see.   Maybe I will have to ask Andrew, our hero, if I have to do that with each message...kind of censoring them I guess.

And now, at 4:50am, its back to work. There is frozen silk out on the line that has to come in and be pressed. I love winter dyeing, standing out there rinsing 8 yards of silk for my lovely wife.
I must love her. Today is our 34th wedding anniversary. Dinner out...that's a gift for me...I won't have to make it, and 'Black Swan' afterward, that's for Maggie.

Conversation?

I thought everyone would be able to post comments on the blog...so I've done the right thing, I've asked someone smarter than I to look into that for me.  Hopefully he will figure that out for us.

Is it Wednesday yet?

Silk came today, 10 yds of it.  That's means its time to cut out all of it for Maggie.  She will make a sample from the prototype and we send all the pieces off to seamstresses, with detailed instructions and photos and diagrams...Maggie knows just how she wants an outfit to look.  And these seamstresses know fine hand work, I know, because I have seen Maggie open their work and comment, 'aren't these lovely!'

Today she played....well that's the wrong word, she worked on hair styles for two new dolls for 2011.  Up, down, straight or curls.  Colors were right, sample wig was wrong style...she kept changing them all day.  She does her own hair much quicker.  She was in the studio until 10:30 tonight...but the results are pretty cool.   I will let you know when the camera comes out.  Sneak peeks maybe.

New Dolls

Photos are always fun.  Here are two new dolls from Maggie, small special editions created for her collectors.
This one is titled 'Sisters.'  Maggie has enjoyed the texture created with silk and felt in these outfits.  The big sister is 11" tall and jointed at her hips, shoulders, elbows and wrists.  Her little sister is 9" tall and jointed the same as her big sister.  The wooden wheel barrel is hand made and perfect for a ride on a sunny day.

And edition of 10, available from Maggie herself, sells for $1495.  Six month layaways are welcome.
Email inquiries to maggiemadedolls@verizon.net

And this is a special edition created for The Toy Shoppe and can be ordered by contacting them at
1-800-447-7995.   She is standing 11" tall on a felt mound filled with handmade felt flowers.  She is
jointed at her hips, shoulders, elbows and wrists.  And for the first time this doll has individual poseable
fingers, perfect for picking some flowers.   A limited edition of 20 pieces, she sells for $1295.
Delivery will be in the early spring of 2011.
